As the first act of the Irish Free State these boxes were painted from the royal red of the British postal system to the iconic Emerald green we know and love today. A true symbol of Irish independence, this post box located in Skibbereen, Co. Cork is one of six known surviving specimens originally introduced in the 1850's.
